Is Piano Express right for beginners?
Absolutely! Piano Express is designed for beginners and early-intermediate students, ages 6 to adult (some 5-year-olds may be ready too). Our step-by-step method helps every student build confidence and skill at their own pace.

Where are classes held?
Our studio is at 11040 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite 420, in Westwood, just east of the 405. There's ample street parking nearby, both metered and free.

When are classes held?
Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 7:30 pm, and Saturdays from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Each class is 55 minutes and meets once a week.

How much do classes cost?
$185 per month for weekly 55-minute classes. Your first class is a free trial.

What happens at the free trial?
We assess your student's level, teach a couple of songs, and show you the practice software. We also answer your questions about the classes and talk through scheduling for ongoing classes.

How many students are in each class?
Small groups of 4–6 students allow for personalized attention and a friendly, supportive place to learn.

Do students need a keyboard at home?
Yes. A digital keyboard is best (61 keys minimum, 88 keys preferred) because it connects to our Piano Express software.

An acoustic piano works too. Students can practice from their books at home and use the full software during class. Many who start on an acoustic later add a digital keyboard to boost learning and motivation.

How does the practice software work?
It connects to your keyboard, scores the accuracy of your playing, and shows your mistakes so you can correct them right away.

Will my child be held back or left behind in a group?
Not at all. Classes can include students at different levels. Each student works on their own level at their own keyboard with headphones, while Josh goes around the room helping each one.

What if a student misses a class?
They may attend another available class as a makeup.

How fast will my child progress?
On average, students progress 2–3x faster than in traditional beginner lessons, and in some cases up to 6x faster, depending on how much they practice between lessons. That's because the practice software, used in class and at home, lets students see how accurately they're playing and correct mistakes right away.
